Using Student Writing as a Tool

During the various stages of the Writing Process, as a student creates a piece of draft writing, the student (together with the tutor) may identify parts of the writing that could be improved. Once something has been identified, where to next?

Remember –

  • Don’t work on everything at once.
  • Keep in mind the goals identified by the student in their Learning Plan and link the activity to the goal(s).

This resource provides some ideas about where you can go to next with a student in developing their writing. There are four sections:

  • Reading
