The 2012 Te Hui ā Tau (AGM) and National Planning Hui took place at Waipuna Conference Centre in Tamaki Makaurau Auckland from Tuesday 31 Hōngongoi (July) - Thursday 2 Here turi kōkā (August) 2012.

The Theme for 2012 was: ‘Kaupapa: Walk the Talk’.

The Student Writing Event was also held during the Hui with 21 students and a team of tutors.

8 Mahuru (September) is the United Nations designated date for International Literacy Day, and Adult Learners' Week – He Tangata Mātauranga ran from 3-9.  IMahuru (September) 2012.

The ALW-HTM Report is a compilation of reports submitted by Ngā Poupou (members of Literacy Aotearoa) detailing the events and celebrations held on International Literacy Day and during the ‘week’.
