Access Literacy delivers Training Opportunities programmes and Youth Training programmes designed to enhance the literacy levels and foundation skills of unemployed adults and adults with no or low qualifications.

The programmes focus on improving reading, writing, listening, communication and numeracy skills, and offer basic computing.

Students also work to gain an average of 20 credits toward the National Certificate in Employment Skills.

The NCES provides people with skills that are needed in most workplaces.  The NCES is designed to be a starting point for further qualifications, and to complement them.

The programme provides a high tutor-to-learner ratio, allowing more individual attention, and offers creative and integrated approaches to literacy. Learners participate in a range of group and individual learning activities, working at their own pace guided by an individual learning plan.
